Total train protection system

Total train protection is optimal for cases where major fires are possible, or where risk of such fires is significant.

HI-FOG® provides two options for total train protection, depending on whether the system needs to be activated in several or all carriages at the same time. For the highest level of fire protection, each carriage can be protected by a completely independent HI-FOG® system with dedicated cylinder units per carriage.

Alternatively, a special heavy duty solution can be implemented using a gas-driven pump (GPU) that allows a higher, steadier pressure (stronger discharge) compared to cylinder units. Unlike cylinder units, the GPU is a centralized solution making maintenance of the GPU simpler and reducing the weight of the total train protection system.

There are two types of GPU systems available: compact and modular. The compact GPU is located under one carriage. The modular GPU option allows components (gas cylinders, water tank, pump, valves) to be installed on one or two adjacent cars to balance the weight distribution. Both options use HI-FOG® spray heads.
