Land-based applications
HI-FOG is the world's leading water mist fire protection technology. HI-FOG systems are being installed on over half the new cruise ships and luxury ferries being built around the world.
But now the technology is moving onto land. Approved HI-FOG systems protect turbines and machinery spaces for the largest energy companies in the world. Madrid and London underground raliway systems use HI-FOG to protect their special fire risks. Insurance companies, banks and leading telecom and internet service providers trust HI-FOG systems to protect valuable computer equipment from fire and smoke damage. HI-FOG sprinkler systems also protect hotels, offices and museums, as well as historic and heritage buildings.
Conventional low pressure water spray or sprinkler systems can cause considerable water damage, often greater than the direct fire damage. Low pressure systems can be difficult to install, especially in retrofit projects. Gaseous systems are unsuitable for many risks because of the difficulty of ensuring enclosure integrity, high recharge costs and the personnel and environmental safety issues associated with certain gases.
HI-FOG system on its minimum performance is equal, but often better than conventional fire protection systems, such as sprinklers or gases. Since HI-FOG supresses fire with minimal water discharge, the protected facility or equipment is not damaged and clean-up time and costs are negligible. Pipe sizes are small, making installation easy and fast, particularly in retrofits. HI-FOG uses just pure water, making it totally safe for people, equipment and the environment. HI-FOG is an ideal choice for most land-based fire protection applications.
