How luxurious can cruising get?

Seabourn Odysseya will be fire protected by HI-FOG

GENOA: The popularity of ocean cruising shows no sign of abating. The variety of packages on offer keeps growing, ranging from modest weekend get-aways to super-luxury cruises stopping in at the world’s most exotic ports of call. The Mariotti shipyard, located in the middle of the Port of Genoa, has raised the bar of the luxury cruise experience even higher with a contract for the delivery of three ultra-luxury cruise ships to the Seabourn Cruise Line of Miami.

The ships, designed to hold 450 passengers in the lap of luxury, are extravagant in every sense of the word with gourmet restaurants, spas, and suites accommodating groups of up to 100 people. The first ship, the Seabourn Odysseya, will be delivered in the summer of 2009. The sister ships are scheduled for delivery in 2010 and 2011.

It almost goes without saying that these ships will be protected from fire by HI-FOG®. Marioff has signed a contract with the Mariotti shipyard for the turnkey supply of the HI-FOG® system in what will be Marioff’s most modern and complete marine fire protection job to date. HI-FOG® will protect all the accommodation spaces including the deep-fat fryers in the hot galleys and the galley ducts. HI-FOG® will also provide total protection and local protection of the machinery spaces. Marioff’s design package for these ships includes all the latest HI-FOG® innovations developed in cooperation with the world’s leading ship-owners and shipyards.

Work is proceeding apace: Marioff’s ability to keep to strenuous shipyard schedules and quality standards is being proven yet again. When these super-luxury ships set sail, they will offer their passengers every conceivable indulgence and the world’s best marine fire protection.
