Deep Fat Fryer and Duct Fire Protection

Deep fat fryers are one of the major sources of fires on vessels.

Heat in close proximity to large amounts of combustible liquid (cooking oil) creates a high fire risk. Fires are challenging to put out because the hot oil needs to be cooled as well as the flames extinguished.

HI-FOG® systems for deep fat fryers and ducts are either standalone installations or integrated into the main system. For ducts in galleys or laundry rooms, special HI-FOG® spray heads are used. The spray heads are kept protected outside the duct when not active. This prevents grease or lint from clogging the nozzle openings.
