At the heart of HI-FOG® technology are the patent protected, precision machined sprinklers and spray heads. There are several models available, each designed for a specific application and type of fire hazard.
HI-FOG® sprinklers are normally used in systems where the thermal activation of the sprinkler activates the discharge. The heat-sensitive glass bulb bursts at the given temperature (five options ranging from 57 to 141°C). This releases the spool valve, which allows the high pressure water to flow through the micro-nozzles.
HI-FOG® sprinklers consist of the sprinkler body, spool valve, micro-nozzles and a heat-sensitive glass bulb. Each sprinkler is equipped with a 300 µm strainer to protect against clogging. Most HI-FOG® sprinklers are made of brass and plated with chrome or nickel. Other finishes, such as gold, are also available.

HI-FOG® spray heads are always open (no glass bulb). They are normally used in systems where a discharge is manually or automatically activated through an independent fire detection system. A variety of spray heads are available to meet a wide range of fire protection requirements, as well as special requirements such as tamper-proof installations (e.g. in prisons) or floor mounting (e.g. in hangars).
HI-FOG® spray heads consist of a body, micro-nozzles and a 300 µm strainer to protect against clogging. All HI-FOG® spray heads are made of stainless steel.

HI-FOG® sprinkler and spray heads are connected to the tubing system and mounted using a suitable assembly body (also called mounting adapter). A variety of assembly bodies are available to suit different ceiling and wall types or other special mounting systems. Different tube connections are also available.
The adapter used for sprinkler heads normally is equipped with a patented check valve. This significantly reduces the time needed to exchange a sprinkler, as the system does not need to be drained. When the sprinkler is removed, the check valve will close the access from the tube.
