Marriott Adds HI-FOG® to its Fire Protection Standards

Vantaa, Finland – The HI-FOG® Water Mist Fire Protection System from Marioff Corporation Oy became the first water mist technology to meet Marriott International, Inc.’s Fire Protection and Life Safety Design Standards.

Marriott, the third largest hotel and the leading hotel management company in the world, is known for its strict life safety requirements and rigorous inspection program. Since the 1980’s, sprinklers have been mandatory in all Marriott properties.

The 2010 edition of Marriott’s Fire Protection and Life Safety Design Standards recognizes HI-FOG® as a practical alternative to traditional sprinkler systems. The Design Standards govern all Marriott International brands that are owned, managed or franchised properties, such as The Ritz-Carlton®, Renaissance®, Courtyard by Marriott®, and the newly launched Autograph Collection™.

The HI-FOG® system’s flexibility allows it to be used in a range of hotel buildings, from demanding historic retrofits to modern structures. Combined with Marioff professional services, HI-FOG® has consistently met the expectations of Marriott Fire Protection Division.

Marriott Fire Protection Division has contributed to the development of HI-FOG® since the first system was installed in Marriott Regents Park in 2000. Today more than 30 hotels under the Marriott brands are protected by HI-FOG®.
