New HI-FOG® Pump for Navies

HELSINKI, Finland, Sept. 29, 2010 — At this year’s EuroNaval exhibition in Paris, 25-29 October, Marioff will introduce the new HI-FOG® Electric Pump Unit for Navies (HI-FOG® EPU-NA). This new pump, tank and filter system meets tough anti-shock and vibration requirements, and can even be installed with an antimagnetic construction. Marioff is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

“This highly anticipated new product line demonstrates Marioff’s commitment to the Navy sector,” says Timo Niiranen, special applications manager. “We now have a special navy product that is easily customizable for any case and meets key requirements.”

The HI-FOG® EPU-NA uses sturdy, compact modules that can be arranged in a wide number of configurations. Each module is small enough to fit through an 800x800 mm hatchway.

As the demand on vessels to be more self-sufficient and make longer deployments increases, the new HI-FOG® EPU-NA helps navies reach their goals. It means most compartments, from machinery spaces to living quarters, can be protected by HI-FOG® - the world-leading high-pressure water mist fire protection system.
