Oldenburg, Germany

HI-FOG®protects and covers every area of Oldenburg’s Schlaues Haus (the clever house) with a gas-driven pump unit (GPU). Additionally, the high-pressure water mist system is used to protect the ceiling holes. The idea for this science house was born during Oldenburg’s year as the city of science, and on the 3rd of December 2010 Schlaues Haus’ foundation stone was laid.

The construction works took two years due to the coming together of old and new: one of the most historic heritage town houses in Oldenburg was completely refurbished using innovative and sustainable technologies.

A modern and light building now complements the historical building. Throughout the year, Schlaues Haus, which has a utilization concept as innovative as its architecture, serves as a venue for scientific congresses and symposiums hosted by the university and the Jade Academy. Over 670 square meters of floor space, as well as modern conference rooms and media technology, create the ideal backdrop for the presentation and exchange of the latest research findings.
