Sustainability

Sustainable by design

HI-FOG was designed from the start to use as little water as possible—to protect what matters most. By focusing on heat absorption and efficient suppression, our system was developed from the beginning for challenging operating environments while not compromising on performance.

We’re constantly improving our products to help our customers reduce their own environmental impact. From smarter designs to more sustainable components, product development plays a key role in this shared journey.

Because we manufacture in-house at our factory in Kerava, Finland, we’re able to monitor and reduce our environmental footprint throughout the production process.

We’re also working on a life cycle assessment to guide future innovation—ensuring that HI-FOG continues to evolve in meaningful ways, with sustainability built in at every stage.

Culture built on trust and accountability

At Marioff, people are at the center of everything we do. Rooted in Nordic values, we operate with trust, transparency, and respect—not as aspirations, but as everyday standards.

We provide a safe, inclusive, and accountable working environment where everyone can do their best work. We conduct three employee engagement surveys each year, giving every team member a voice in shaping our workplace. Employees also have access to confidential channels for raising concerns. Employee well-being, including formal equality and pay equity plans, and our operations are certified for occupational safety. We govern our operations to ensure performance above and beyond compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and permits globally.

These practices reflect the values that guide us every day: acting with integrity, treating people with respect, and holding ourselves accountable.

Sourcing with purpose

Behind every HI-FOG system is a supply chain built on trust, quality, and shared values. All suppliers need to follow our code of conduct, which outlines our expectations for ethical business practices and responsible sourcing. All new suppliers are audited prior to starting co-operation. We regularly visit our suppliers and evaluate them across key criteria, including quality, environmental management, safety, and employee well-being.

With around 80% of our suppliers based in Europe, our supply chain has remained resilient during global crises, experiencing minimal disruptions or delays.

To further strengthen transparency, we’re developing a new supplier assessment platform. Once launched, it will help us and our partners go deeper into sustainability performance and identify new areas for collaboration and improvement.

Reducing our footprint, every day

At our factory in Kerava, Finland, we’ve spent the past 15 years making steady improvements to reduce energy use, cut water consumption, and increase recycling. Our goal is to reach carbon neutrality at our site in 2030, and we’re taking measurable steps toward that goal.

We’ve used only renewable energy at our factory since 2023 and thanks to changes in the heating systems, we’ve been able to reduce energy consumption by 40%. We continue to make smart energy investments that lower total consumption, including improving process efficiency and equipment. These are not one-time actions—they’re long-term habits.
